Recycled T-Shirt Friendship Bracelets Craft for Kids
Clearly we love recycled crafts. Just in the past few weeks we've done a soap bottle rocket, a yogurt cup slingshot, shrinky dinks from deli containers, a milk jug piggy bank, and many more ideas on our Boredom Busters Activities Guide page. Today we've got another fun way to reuse stuff around the house. These colorful friendship bracelets, made from old t-shirts or any scraps of soft fabric, are even easier for little hands to make than the old-style ones we did, but lots of fun for bigger kids to stack on their wrists and trade with friends.
Follow these simple directions to make friendship bracelets, headbands or whatever your imagination cooks up.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
1. Cut the t-shirts into 1" strips and stretch them from end to end so they become long skinny strands.
2. Pick three strands, group them together and tape them to a table.
3. Braid them together and tie them off with small rubber bands (rainbow loom bands work great.)
Once you get the hang of it, try different braiding techniques to get different patterns.
