Observe wintering seals in their natural habitat at the eastern point of Long Island during this early spring hike guided by a state park naturalist.
Explore a wooded trail ending in a secluded area of the Block Island Sound, where seals can be seen on the rocks. Along the way, spot wintering ducks and explore marine geology. Dress warm and bring binoculars.
Meet at the office/restroom building in Montauk Point State Park's lower parking lot and arrive 10 minutes before the hike start time. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable hiking shoes. Strollers are not recommended, and beware: The hikes last 1-3 hours.
