10 Activities for Long Island Kids During Presidents Week

As if Long Island kids haven't had plenty of time off due to the snow, they now have a week-long break coming up. For those of us not lucky enough to be flying off to a tropical location--or enrolling them in a Winter Break Camp--it might be hard to find ways to keep them occupied during the vacation. Bedtime with Butterflies and Bugs

Enjoy the wonder and beauty of live free-flying butterflies at this insect-filled overnight. Participants will meet some live butterflies and bugs, make a butterfly metamorphosis craft and learn about the largest class of organisms on the planet. Includes dinner and a showing of Disney's A Bug's Life.

The museum offers family-friendly gallery tours and hands-on art making, with different art projects offered each day. Docents can also guide families through the galleries and encourage children to create their responses to the art.

Afternoon of Games

This free event is for kids grades K-5.
