10 Great East End Camps

Long gone are the lazy days of summer making s'mores and singing Kumbauya around the campfire. Kids are used to busy schedules and crave those organized activities in the summer too. Why not look into registering at one or two of the cool camps offered on the East End?

1.  The Ross School Summer Camp in East Hampton provides tons of activities focused on nature, sports, and crafts for kids of all ages with planned excursions throughout each session.  Prices range from $1,350 per/week for half-day sessions to $1,575 per/week for full-day sessions.  Discounts are available if registered for three or more weeks. 631-907-5555

2.  Have a water lover?  Register for a one-week camp session at Main Beach Adventure Camp to learn how to surf and/or wakeboard. Surf camp is located in Wainscott and is available for kids 8-15 years old from 9:30am to 3:30pm, $1,195 per session. Participants must be confident swimmers. Wakeboarding camp sessions run from 9:15am to 12:30pm; $800 for a full-week session, $200 for a single-day session.  Participants will learn on the Peconic Bay. You can register for camps online. 3.  Future Stars Camp for sports enthusiasts ages 4-16, offers programs such as baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, and tennis all directed by highly qualified officials at the Southampton Recreation Center. The Little Stars program for 3.5-5-year-olds is $475/week, Tennis sessions are $750/week, and all other camps are $495/week Price is discounted if registered for three or more weeks, and there is an additional $25 per week discount if a sibling is registered for three or more weeks. 4.  The Bay Street Theatre Camp in Sag Harbor fills up quickly hosting camp July 22-26 and August 5-9 and 12-16 for ages 8-12 from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Kids will sing, dance, and learn improv. A one-week session is $450, two-week sessions are $800, and three-week sessions $1,100. 631-725-0818

5.  Sag Harbor Rowing Camp for ages 9 and up has weekly sessions throughout the summer from 9:30am-12pm or 1-3:30pm, $285/wk. Participants must bring their own life jacket and water shoes. 631-267-6325

6.  Camp Flying Point in Southampton is a camp for kids with autism, focusing on sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities. It offers half-day sessions for 3-to-4-year-olds and full-day sessions for school-aged children. 631-283-2296

7. Great Rock Golf Club Junior Camps in Wading River, offers weekly sessions throughout the summer. All sessions are provided Monday through Thursday with options to register for half days or full days. Half-day weekly sessions run from 9 to 11am at $199/wk. Full-day sessions run from 9am to 2pm at $399/wk. Give your child the foundation to develop the skills and love for this lifelong sport. Equipment is available if needed.

8. Stony Hills Stables in Amagansett has weekly camps from 9am-12pm for young riders (5 and up) to advanced jumpers (7 and up). Young Riders and Horse Camps are $700 each/wk. Short Stirrup Camp and Advanced Jumping Camp are $800 each/wk. 631-267-3203

9.  Quinipet Camp and Retreat Center in Shelter Island has camp options for all of your needs, including full-day, half-day, sleepover, and mommy-and-me camps. Prices range from $250 to $600. 631-749-0430

10.  Rock Camp Hamptons offers a fun experience with talented instructors to teach the novice or experienced rocker, ages 6-18. Half- and full-day one-week sessions available. Half-day sessions run from 9am to 12pm or 12:30-3:30pm for $675; full day sessions run from 9am to 3:30pm for $949. Session I: July 8-12; Session II: July 15-19. 908-230-6079
