Family-Friendly Events in the East End, Hamptons and North Fork June 7- 8

The Hamptons and North Fork are in full swing with tons of family-friendly events and happenings, from fairs and farm tours to petting zoos. Check out our list of the ten must-attend events for this weekend.

All Weekend

Westhampton Beach Spring Arts and Crafts Show, Westhampton Beach
Enjoy a day shopping at the WesthamptonBeach Spring Arts and Crafts show, which will feature over 70 artisans on the Westhampton Beach Village Green, located on Mill Road. The craft show will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Cost: Free

Saturday, June 7

Train a Lion, Kiss a Seal at the Long Island Aquarium, Riverhead
Bring the kids to the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead on Saturday for a fun-filled day of behind-the-scenes action. During the event, which runs from 10:15am to 2:15pm, kids will be able to get up close and personal with some of the creatures that call the aquarium home. Cost: $155 per person

Science Saturday at the Long Island Science Center, Riverhead
Kids can learn and play at the Long Island Science Center with over 30 hands-on exhibits. The center is open from 11am to 4pm. Cost: $5 per person

Antiques on the Riverfront,  Riverhead
Bring the family to browse treasures on the Peconic riverfront in Riverhead from 10am to 4:30 p.m. You can even bring your own antiques and collectibles for appraisal. The event will also feature live music. Cost: Free

Celebrate Farm Days, Riverhead
Head over to the Talmage Farm Agway to meet and learn about calves, llamas, baby goats, labs, piglets, chick and ducks. There will be a petting zoo and pony rides. The event is from 10am to 3pm. Cost: Free

Farm Tour, Riverhead
The kids will love to tour the family-friendly Garden of Eve. Visitors will be able to learn about the various species that are part of the farm's agri-ecosystem. The farm will be open for tours from 11am to 1pm. Cost: Free

Barn Dance, Riverhead
Bring the family to the Hallockville Museum for an old fashioned barn dance to benefit the East End Live Stock Association. Doors open at 6:30pm with dancing from 7pm to 9pm. Cost: $20 adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and children under 5 are free.

Christopher's Run, Southampton
The whole family can run in this annual event, which benefits the Pediatric Blood Marrow Transplant Program at Duke University Medical Center. The run features Kid's Fun run, starting at 9am at Agawam Park. Cost: $5 for kids, $30 adults.

Sunday, June 8

Southampton Antique Fair, Southampton
The Rogers Mansion is hosting an free antique fair on Sunday from 9am to 3pm. While at the fair, which will feature furniture, jewelry, vintage clothing, ceramics and artwork, the family can also enjoy the museum and see all that it has to offer. Cost: $4 per person.

Hamptons Dog Park Opening, Southampton
Bring along the family dog to the grand opening of the Hamptons Dog Park. The event will feature a canine fashion show and a two-mile walk through Southampton.The event will take place between 10am and noon. Cost: $30
