Family-Friendly Events on the East End, Hamptons and North Fork, July 25, 26 & 27

Summer in the Hamptons and the North Fork is in full swing with more than a few family-friendly events happening, from Shakespeare in the Park to a Carnival. We've come up with 10 must-attend events during the weekend of July 25-27.

Southampton Kiwanis Carnival
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 6pm to 11pm, kiddies will enjoy riding rides, playing games and eating carnival foods. The carnival will be held at 1995 Montauk Highway (next to Carvel) in Bridgehampton. Cost: POP bracelets, $5 off coupon available for 7/25.

Country Fest
The whole family will enjoy the 2014 Country Fest, which will be held at the Dorothy Flint 4-H Camp, located at 3186 Sound Avenue in Riverhead. The fest, which will run from 11am to 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday will feature live country music, kids events, line dancing, a carnival and monster trucks. Cost: $10 adults, kids, ages 10 and under free

Saturday, July 26

Pioneer Kids
Kids can meet farm animals and learn about the life of a plant, as well as take a hike at the Sweet Woodland Farm, located at 45 Old Squires Road in Hampton Bays. The program runs from 10am to noon and pre-registration is required by calling 631-594-1789. Cost: $25

Paper Planes Story & Craft
Bring the kids to the Amagansett Free Library from 3:30pm to 4:30pm to lean how to make a paper plane and read theme-related stories. Pre-registration is required for this free program by calling (631) 267-3810. Cost: Free

Art Fairy Tour
Kids can learn about art at the art history and art from expert child arts educators from 3:30pm to 4:30pm at the Southampton Elks, located at 605 County Road 39 in Southampton. Pre-registration is required by calling 917-379-7575. Cost: Free

Arts and Crafts Fair
Your family can explore arts and craft vendors at the 14th Annual Outdoor Arts & Crafts Show, sponsored by the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, starting at 7am. The show takes place at the Pocket Park, located at 30 W. Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Cost: Free

Barn Dance
The entire family is invited to attend the Hallockville Museum Farm's 12th Annual Barn Dance, where there will be live music from the Dance All Night Band and caller Chart Guthrie. The museum is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead. Cost: $25 for adults at the door; $5 for children, ages 5-12

Shakespeare in the Park
Grab chairs for the entire family and head over to Mitchel Park, located at 115 Front Street in Greenport at 7pm to watch Northeast Stage's Shakespeare in the Park production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Cost: Free

Sunday, July 27

Secrets of the Pond
Your kids will love learning about the secrets that are hidden in the pond from frogs and turtles at SoFo's Secrets of the Pond hand-on program that starts at 10am. Pre-registration is required for this program by calling 631-537-9735. cost: $7 per adult; $5 per child.

Mineral, Gem, Jewelry and Fossil Show
Mattituck High School, located at 15125 Main Road in Mattituck is hosting the 34th annual Mineral, Gem, Jewelry and Fossil Show, from 10am to 5pm. The event, which is sponsored by the Long Island Mineral & Geology Society, will feature vendors and learning opportunities for children. Cost: $6 per person, kids under 12 are free
