Long Island Kids' Activities August 24 & 25: Seafood Festival, Greek Festival, Feast Of Mother Cabrini, Back To School Giveaway

This weekend, festivals abound on Long Island. Check out the Annual Seafood Festival in West Sayville, the Greek Festival in Port Jefferson, and The Feast Of Mother Cabrini in Brentwood. Watch pigs race at the Long Island Game Farm. Enjoy a good ol' fashioned block party at the Huntington Arts Council. As always, check our events calendar every day for fun activities for the family.

T-minus 12 days until most Long Island kids head back to school. Our upcoming Back to School Swagapalooza is just the thing to get everyone into the school spirit. Annual Seafood Festival - West Sayville
This festival at the Long Island Maritime Museum features a seafood-lover pavilion, a festival food court, and an arts and craft show. For the kids, Kings of the Coast serves up live performances and leads kids on treasure hunts, along with face painting, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Live music rounds out the festivities.

Greek Festival - Port Jefferson
At the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption enjoy fireworks, live music, Greek dancing, carnival rides and games, and Greek food specialties.

The Feast Of Mother Cabrini - Brentwood
This festival at Suffolk Community College's Grant Campus features a food promenade, live music, fireworks, thrill rides, and midway games.

Hot Dog Pig Races - Manorville
At the Long Island Game Farm, the Hollywood Hog All-Star, The Royal Pigs of Hamelot, International Stunt Team, Hot Dog Pig Racing Team, and The Super Hot Dog Team all compete to win the race.

Octonauts To Your Stations - Bayshore
At the Westfield South Shore Mall, Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the hit children’s television series Octonauts performs two musical shows.

Turtle Hatch Day - Cold Spring Harbor
At the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, celebrate the hatching of the baby turtles. Enjoy refreshments and turtle crafts.

Off The Walls Block Party - Huntington
At the Huntington Arts Council, watch as street artists transform the exterior of the building. Meet the artists and browse merchandise from over 40 vendors. Live music rounds out the festivities.

Family Adventure: Moon River Hike - Oakdale
At Connetquot River State Park Preserve, enjoy the cool evening air and take a walk along the moonlit trails of the preserve.
