'Tis the season for all to be merry and bright! Festivities and activities are yours for the taking beginning this weekend across Long Island. Live holiday theater, luminous light shows, breakfasts, brunches and skating with Santa, old-fashioned holiday decor and much more. Holiday Model Train Exhibit - Babylon. This model train tells a visual story about the Babylon Trolley system that used to carry passengers from Amityville to Babylon Village. It is 240-sq. ft. large. Through Jan. 4. Cost: Free

Bayville Winter Wonderland - Bayville. Runs through Jan. 4, 2015. Santa's Toy Factory Funhouse, Captain Bay's Yo Ho Holiday Light Show, Bayville Holiday Express Train Ride, A Magical Meeting with Santa Arctic Ice Skating Adventure, Bradley Bay's Rock Climbing, Holiday Character Meet and Greet, Holiday Arts and Crafts and Holiday Story Telling. An arcade, indoor rock climbing and the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. Miniature golf and Ropes Course - weather permitting. Cost: $21/per person.

Winter Wonderfest - Long Beach. Holiday characters, kids play area, entertainment, food and vendors. Visitors encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots. Cost: Free admission.

Happy as Clams, The Musical - Garden City. Live musical. $8/with museum admission. $12/theater only.

St. James Model Railroad & Holiday Market - St. James. View the train displays. Cost: Free.

Explorer Family Backpacks - Uniondale. Pick up a backpack and explore the world through this Hofstra University gallery. Cost: Free.

Saturday, December 6

Festival of Lights - Freeport. Shop, dine and enjoy the Nautical Mile Holiday Boat Parade. Cost: Free.

Smith Haven Mall Holiday Breakfast - Lake Grove. Crafts, letters to Santa, viewing of Boxtrolls and more as part of the Simon Kidgits Club. Cost: Free.

Breakfast With Santa - Multiple Locations. At Applebee's this Saturday, Santa will arrive via fire truck and greet children. Check your local restaurant location for details.

Holiday Baking Lessons - Hicksville. Christmas and Hanukkah baking lessons for kids. Cost: $39-49.

Gingerbread Decorating Workshop - Brigehampton. Families and kids can decorate a gingerbread house. Cost: $20 members, $30 for nonmembers.

Barnaby Saves Christmas - Port Jefferson. Live performance. Cost: $8/ticket.

Cinderella's Christmas - Westbury. Live performance. Cost: $18.50.

Open Studio Project: Thumbprint Reindeer Ornament - Sayville. Mini Monet project. Handmade items for kids to created. Cost: $15/child. 

Winter Wonderland at the Whaling Museum - Cold Spring Harbor. Every Saturday in Decemebr the museum is turned into a Frozen-themed winter wonderland. Exhibits and workshops. Cost: Free with paid museum admission.

Skate With Santa - Port Washington. Children can skate with Santa, take pictures and decorate cookies. Cost: Resident adult w/ Leisure Pass, $7; 13-17 years w/ Leisure Pass, $5; resident child 12 & under accompanied by adult w/ Leisure Pass.

Santa in the Park - Wantagh. See Santa arrive via firetruck and enjoy photos, toys, cookies, hot chocolate and more. Cost: Free.

The Snow Queen at BayWay Arts Center – East Islip. A frozen adventure of Han Christian Anderson’s classic tale. Live theater. Cost: $10/advance, $12/at the door.

Science Saturday at the Long Island Science Center – Riverhead. Enjoy a day at the Long Island Science Center. Cost: $5/person.

Craft for Kids at Lakeshore Learning Store – New Hyde Park. Thanksgiving craft at the Lakeshore Learning Store. Cost: Free.

Brunch with Santa - At Black Forest Brew Haus in Farmingdale. A few seatings are available. Cost: $29.95/adults, $18.95/kids under 10, $8.95/kids under 4.

Brunch with Santa - Huntington. At Ideal Cheese and Wine Cafe. Cost: $17.95/kids, $22.95/adults.

Christmas at Hallockville - Riverhead. Old-fashioned Christmas decorations, music, exhibits and more. Cost: Adults $8/$6 museum members; $4 ages 6-12, ages 5 & under are free. $15 for 2 adults with 2 kids.

Happy Holidays Gift Bags - Garden City. Kids can decorate gift bags. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Sea Glass Ornament Workshop - Cold Spring Harbor. Kids can create an ornament. Cost: $10/child, $8/siblings.
