The holidays are over, January is in full swing and the kids are back to school, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Several family-friendly live theater performances kick off this weekend, along with arts & crafts and some museum fun for the entire family. All Weekend

The Wizard of Oz - Smithtown. Live performance at Smithtown Performing Arts Center. Runs through Jan. 25, 2015. Cost: Adults/$35, Children under 12/$20.

Let Them Roll - Port Jefferson. At the Maritime Explorium, kids can design and test their own roller coaster- see if they can get their "car" to stay on the track. Cost: $5/person.

Disney on Ice: Princesses and Heroes - Uniondale. High-flying jumps, daring acrobatics, breathtaking skating and lovable Disney friends are just a wish away. Featuring Anna, Elsa, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and more.

Seal Cruise - Freeport. Hope aboard the Captain Lou in Freeport, hosted by the Riverhead Foundation to search for harbor seals and other mammal life. Runs through April 12. Cost: $19-$26.

Messy Afternoons at LICM – Garden City. At the Long Island Children’s Museum, all weekend long. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Explorer Family Backpacks – Uniondale. Pick up a backpack and explore the world through this Hofstra University gallery. Cost: Free.

Saturday, January 10

Peter Pan - Bellmore. Live performance at The Showplace at Bellmore Movies. Runs through Jan. 31. Cost: $10/per person.

The Little Mermaid - East Islip. Live performance at BayWay Arts Center. Through Jan. 31. Cost: $10/advance, $12/at the door.

Aladdin - Elmont. Live performance at BroadHollow Theatre. Cost: $10/advance, $12/at the door.

Weekend Workshop: Olaf on Canvas - Sayville. A one-hour workshop at Mini Monet to create the Frozen character on a canvas. Cost: $15/person.

Stop Motion Claymation Workshop - Huntington. A four-week class at Cinema Arts Centre for kids ages 10 and up. Video premiere of their projects after the last class. Cost: Four classes for $120.

Glacier Time! The Last Ice Age - Bridgehampton. Experiment with ice and snow at the South Fork Natural History Museum to learn how the glacier flowed south, how it created our home, and where it is today. Cost: $7 admission + $3 materials fee.

Stamped Stationary - Garden City. Decorate your own custom stationery with colorful paper and stamps, and write a letter to someone special for the New Year at The Long Island Children's Museum. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Science Saturday at the Long Island Science Center – Riverhead. Enjoy a day at the Long Island Science Center. Cost: $5/person.

Craft for Kids at Lakeshore Learning Store – New Hyde Park. Thanksgiving craft at the Lakeshore Learning Store. Cost: Free.

Sunday, January 11

Family Yoga - Sands Point. Families with children up to elementary ages can do yoga together at the Sands Point Preserve. Cost: $10/carload or free with annual pass.

Family Sundays at the Museum - Roslyn. Family Sundays at the Museum Plan the family’s weekend around a visit to the museum. Each Sunday Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1 p.m. docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and supervised art activities for the whole family beginning at 1:30 p.m. Cost: Free with museum admission.

The Adventures of Perseus - Garden City. Join Perseus, the son of Zeus, on a fantastic journey through Greek mythology. Live puppet show at The Long Island Children's Museum. Cost: $5 with museum admission, ($4 LICM members), $10 theater only.

Lego Club - Bridgehampton. Enjoy two hours of Lego fun every Sunday at the Children's Museum of the East End. Cost: $10/admission.

Sunday Kids Club - East Hampton. Drop off kids for a 9am-12pm kids camp at Hampton Kids. Cost: $30-40.

Magic Show - East Meadow. Live children's show featuring magic, music and more. Cost: $5/child (pre-registration required).
