Long Island summers are synonymous with fun (and food) filled fairs and festivals. From Ferris wheels and have-it-your-way strawberries to monster truck rides, these warm-weather events are sure to keep your family on the go and in good moods. Check out our list of fairs, feasts and festivals that are so action-packed, they might just put the little ones to sleep on the ride home. Strawberry Fair at Benner's Farm

Adults $7; children under 12 and seniors, $6.
The Benners will do the picking for you so you can indulge in strawberry shortcake (homemade by Mrs. Benner), strawberry ice cream (kids can take a hand in making this), strawberry jam and strawberries dipped in chocolate. While on the farm, kids will have a chance to hold baby chicks, ducks and bunnies, feed the lambs and goats.

Pay-one-price bracelet for midway rides $25.
At the peak of the strawberry season, this annual festival serves up strawberry shortcake, strawberries dipped in chocolate and strawberries just about any way you can imagine. The festival also offers midway rides, live music and more than 100 arts-and-crafts vendors. To top it all off, all the proceeds will benefit local nonprofits on the North Fork.

Heckscher Festival

A fun and educational day is in store for kids of all ages at Heckscher State Park. This event will feature outdoor sporting activities like biking and kayaking, in addition to the usual Earth friendly exhibitors and vendors. Call 631-581-2100 for more information.

Alive After Five
Main Street, Patchogue

Free admission
Patchogue's Thursday night series of street fairs bring vendors, live music, artwork, food stands and other fun along Main Street in the village. Restaurants and shops are open for business, but the street is closed to traffic.

Country Fest Long Island

$10 adults, kids under age 10 are free
This two-day music festival will feature so many activities, food and events for the whole family including: carnival, games, monster truck rides, craft vendors, a kids' corral, mechanical bull and dancing instruction.

St. Rocco's Feast

St. Rocco's Feast is one of the largest annual Italian feasts on Long Island, featuring sausage and pepper sandwiches, homemade pastas and sauces, a Pastry Pavilion, games, rides and other vendors.
