Fall is in full swing with a number of outdoor carnivals, rides, fare and family fun. Be sure to check out our complete roundup of Fall Fairs and Festivals. All Weekend

Festival by the Sea - Lido Beach. Live concerts, great food, inflatables, children's shows, sand sculptures, pony rides, circus acts, biathlon and more. Free admission and free parking.

Long Island Fair - Old Bethpage. At the Old Bethpage Village Restoration, enjoy old-time county fairs with prize winning competitions. Tethered hot air balloon rides, lumberjack demonstrations, camel rides, petting zoo and more.

Measure, Make, MarvelPort Jefferson. At the Maritime Explorium, mix and measure colors as you try to make the perfect green for Shrek, Fiona, or the Incredible Hulk.

East End Maritime Festival - Greenport. Tours, carousel rides, railroad museum, maritime museum, sailboats and more.

Merrick Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival - Merrick. Weekend long crafts, vendors, food, carnival rides and more.

Greek Festival on the Harbor - Port Washington. Authentic Greek food and pastries, live Greek music, games & rides, marketplace and more.

Fall Garden Harvest Festival - Great River. At the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, activities, demonstrations, tours, garden displays, produce and plants, soil testing, pumpkins for painting ($2), face painting, wool spinning and weaving, model train exhibit, Manor House tours ($8).

James and the Giant Peach - Northport. Live performance at the Engeman Theater.

The Little Mermaid JR. - Garden City. At the Long Island Children's Museum, this live performance will be produced by Plaza Theatrical.

St. Margaret's Fall Fair - Plainview. Weekend long carnival games, rides, food, vendors and more.

Fall Festival - Westbury. Various live animals, Otto the Ghost, crafts, demonstrations and more at Hicks Nurseries.

Whip Up The Wind - Port Jefferson. At the Maritime Explorium, measure the wind speed with simple machines and construct your own anemometer to measure the wind speed on their deck.

Weekend Workshops - Sayville. Drop into Mini Monet for a different art project each weekend. Call first to make sure a private party isn't ongoing.

Saturday, September 26

Cold Spring Harbor Fish Fall Festival - Cold Spring Harbor. Featuring environmental exhibitions, games, refreshments and fishing for kids under 12 with all gear provided.

Family Art Day - Stony Brook. Petting zoo, children's entertainment and more. Art by Local Artists, who will sell their work in the Market Square and Harbor Crescent.

Big Truck DayBridgehampton. At the Children's Museum of the East End, kids of all ages will have the chance to explore and interact with some of the massive moving machines that share our roads.

Party in the Park - Port Washington. Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington are hosting this event at the Blumenfeld Family Park. With Carnival Games, Trackless Train Rides around the park, Mini All Star Pro Hoop, Cotton Candy, Port Washington Fire Truck to explore, Turtle and Lizard to touch by Alley Pond Environmental Center, Face painting by Dvora, Environmental Scavenger Hunt and Flower planting.

Terrific Textiles - Garden City. At the Long Island Children's Museum, create a colorful mini textile pattern with felt.

Sunday, September 27

Painting Class or Tea PartyBellmore. At As You Wish, there's a Mommy & Me painting session, a drop off painting session or a Mad Hatter tea party on Sunday.

SeaFaire - Cold Spring Harbor. At the Whaling Museum, step back in time and celebrate Long Island's marine heritage, historical acts and crafts. Demonstrations, candle-making, wood-working and scrimshaw carving.

Draw Out! - Huntington. The Heckscher Museum is delighted to present this annual free event for the whole family. There will be an array of drawing and collage activities in the Museum, on the terrace, and in Heckscher Park. Free.

Communities for a Cure 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run - Oceanside. Fun Run for Children ages 5-11 at 8:30am.

Village Day Fall Festival at Sands Point Preserve - Sands Point. Outdoor activities for guests of all ages, including a petting zoo and hayrides around the Great Lawn.
