Hay rides, apple picking and all things fall are in store this weekend if you're looking for an autumn adventure. Be sure to check out our complete roundup of Fall Fairs and Festivals. This weekend, there's also a free storytime, nature walk and the chance to create your very own ship in a bottle.

(WEATHER UPDATE) Long Island Fair - Old Bethpage. At the Old Bethpage Village Restoration, enjoy old-time county fairs with prize winning competitions and more. NOTE: Long Island Fair will NOT be open on Saturday, Oct. 3 due to forecasted heavy rain storms.

WEATHER UPDATE Pumpkinfest 2015 - Yaphank. At the Suffolk County Farm, free wagon rides, children’s entertainment, pumpkin decorating and more. NOTE: Limited events still occurring Saturday, Oct. 3 with reduced admission of $8/per person. Sunday agenda will be regularly scheduled events and admission.

Otto the Ghost's Animated Adventure - Westbury. At Hicks through October, enjoy this lighted, animated Halloween show. Free.

WEATHER UPDATE Rise of the Jack O' Lanterns - Old Westbury. An annual event of illuminated, carved pumpkins. A walk-through exhibit. Oct. 2 event postponed until Oct. 8. The exhibit will open Oct. 3 as scheduled. Click here for more weather related updates.

Ship in a Bottle Day - Port Jefferson. At the Maritime Explorium, construct your own miniature ship to fit in a bottle and take to the sea.

James and the Giant Peach - Northport. Live performance at the Engeman Theater.

Weekend Workshops - Sayville. Drop into Mini Monet for a different art project each weekend. Call first to make sure a private party isn't ongoing.

Saturday, October 3

We're in the Wrong Book! Reading - East Northport. Book reading at Barnes and Noble. Free.

Chamber of Commerce Fall Family Festival - Levittown. At Veteran's Memorial Park, enjoy entertainment, crafts, shopping, exhibits, food and a free pumpkin patch. Free admission.

Alice's Wonderland Adventures - Port Jefferson. At Theatre Three, enjoy this live on stage production featuring puppets and acting.

WEATHER UPDATE AppleFest - Amityville. At Park Avenue School, enjoy apple pies, donuts, cider, music, entertainment and more. This event is rain or shine.

Pinkaliscious - Islip. Live performance at the Bay Way Arts Center.

Fall Festival - Bayville. At the Bayville Library, enjoy a costume swap, book sale, crafts, face painting, bake sale, fun and games and magic show at 12:30pm. Free.

WEATHER UPDATE Fall Family Festival - Oyster Bay. At Coe Hall, Halloween trick-or-treat and costume parade, bounce house, candy apples, cider and pies, potato sack races, egg and spoon races, pony rides, carriage rides, pumpkins for sale, pumpkin painting, dahlia garden tours, and live music. This is a rain or shine event. 

Sunday, October 4

Fall Festival - Bay Shore. At Sagtikos Manor, hands-on crafts and old-fashioned games for children, puppet show, cemetery tour, self-guided tour of Manor, vendors and food.

Great Pumpkin Weigh Off - Westbury. At Hicks Nurseries, see which pumpkin will be crowed the heaviest.

Spoons and Tunes - Long Beach. A weekly parent and me program for kids that uses music to entertain.

Charming Crowns - Garden City. At the Long Island Children's Museum, celebrate their newest traveling exhibit, Once Upon a Time, by decorating your own royal crown to wear home to your “castle.”

Seatuck Family Nature Club - Islip. At the Suffolk County Environment Center, these programs will be geared around the current season and include topics such as seasonal birds, tremendous trees and signs of the season.

Kids Club - East Hampton. At Hampton Kids, this weekly club engages and entertains kids.
