If you're looking to fill your summer weekends with some good old-fashioned family fun (and your belly with some tasty food!) then have a look at some of the fun, family-friendly festivals being held on Long Island this summer. Thrill-seekers can soar through the sky on carnival rides offered at most festivals, animal lovers can bond with animals at the petting zoos and with a pony on a pony ride, music lovers can dance and sing along to music from all over the world and foodies of all ages can enjoy all the delicious food offered at nearly all of these festivals.

Celebrate Greek heritage at the 2012 Hamptons Greek Festival. Enjoy Greek music and dancing, authentic Greek food, an outdoor marketplace full of vendors and an area for kids with carnival rides, games, and other children’s activities. Make sure you bring your appetite for gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita and all the other delicious Greek fare on the menu.
Great South Bay Music Festival

The Great South Bay Music Festival is the largest celebration of American music, art, and heritage on Long Island. More than 45 artists will perform rock, funk, jazz, folk, and blues on three stages. “Kidzone” headliners include The Silly Dilly Band and Erin Lee and the Up Past Bedtime Band. Kids' activities including interactive arts and crafts, educational programs, puppeteers, storytelling, musical entertainment, games, and children's entertainers will run continuously on Saturday and Sunday. Once inside the festival, Kidzone is free. Purchase tickets online for significant savings.

Come hungry to the 21st Annual Seafood & Music Festival at the Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville!
