Greenport Maritime Festival
- see all dates
Greenport's maritime heritage is at the forefront of the Maritime Festival. Saturday morning’s parade kicks off the festival, followed by wood boat displays, water sports demonstrations, wood carving, model ship building, music, children’s activities, and more.
There's a full slate of activities planned for the entire weekend, hosted by the East End Seaport Museum & Marine Foundation.
The cardboard-boat regatta takes place on September 20 at 1pm in Mitchell Park. There will be five divisions in the regatta for adults and kids 12 and under, including single riders, full crews and a Privateers Outlaw Race. Boats can be constructed using only corrugated cardboard, duct tape, packing tape, latex caulk water-based glue and rope or string. No wood, metal, wax or plastic of any kind is permitted. Register here.
