Tips for Kids' Haircuts and Baby's First Haircut

  • For baby’s first haircut, take photos! While many Atlanta salons provide a picture, it’s always better to have duplicates.
  • Most salons require appointments and don’t take walk-ins. Be sure to read the salon’s cancellation policy to avoid fees.
  • If your child is susceptible to meltdowns, book the appointment for mid-morning or after naptime. Also, make sure your child isn’t hungry.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early for the appointment. Some Atlanta salons may reschedule appointments if you show up late.
  • To prepare for the appointment, read a story to your little one about getting a haircut. You can even practice cutting hair on a doll so they know what to expect!
