Visit the new LEGO Discovery Center Atlanta

After a $5 million renovation, the new LEGO Discovery Center allows guests to build and launch spaceships, create a LEGO Minifigure, enjoy LEGO-themed rides, and watch a 4-D movie. Check out our review of this interactive venue.

Explore brick art

If you want even more LEGO fun, explore The Art of the Brick Immersive Experience opening April 19, 2023. The captivating exhibit, accompanied by music and 3D mapping, features over 70 creations by LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya.

The Georgia State Fair is back for spring! Running from April 28 - May 7 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Georgia State Fair offers carnival rides, live music, shows, and a petting zoo. 

Six Flags opens back up

It's spring in Atlanta which means that Six Flags Over Georgia opens back up to eager thrill seekers every weekend.

It's tulip time

Enjoy Spring Flower Fest at Callaway Gardens through April 30. Check out this year's new tulip field (with over 100,000 tulips!) in addition to topiary displays and the live Birds of Prey show.

Enjoy the dogwoods

For more than 80 years, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival has been an Atlanta spring staple. Located in Piedmont Park on April 14-16, this festival includes talented artists, performers, food trucks, a kids' area, and more. 

Chalk it up

Let the little ones create floral chalk art along Path400 as part of the Bodacious Blooms Flower Festival. Running from April 27-30, the festival also includes a 5K run, floral installations, and a vendor market. 

Delight in Disney

Become part of your favorite Disney films at Immersive Disney Animation: Atlanta. Opening May 1, you'll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how animators create stories and use special effects. 

Spooky spring

Visit Oakland Cemetery for its annual after-dark spring event, Illumine. On select days April 27-May 7, this year's light show highlights the cemetery's oaks, magnolias, and other trees that support Atlanta's biodiversity.

Eat more fruit and vegetables

Head over to the Grant Park Farmers Market to stock up on locally-grown fruit, vegetables, and meat every Sunday morning. Enjoy live chef demonstrations, a small playground, and picnic tables. 

Party in Inman Park

On April 28-30, 2023, it's time to party at Inman Park Festival. This neighborhood event features artists, concerts, a kid's zone, great food, a tour of homes, and so much fun!

Cheer on the Braves

Baseball season is in full swing. Book tickets to watch the 2022 World Series Champions Atlanta Braves defeat opposing teams at Truist Park. Chop, chop!

Climb a mountain

Bring the family to Stone Mountain Park for a fun-filled day of activities including mini golf, a 4D show, and a scenic railroad. If you don't want to climb to the peak, take the Summit Skyride instead for awe-inspiring views. 

Who wants lemonade?

Head to Dunwoody for its annual Lemonade Days festival on April 19-23. Get your thrills on the carnival rides, eat tasty foods, listen to talented musicians, and of course, fill up on lemonade!

Earth Day

Spend Earth Day...or rather Earth Month at the Children's Museum of Atlanta this April. Kids will make seed paper, learn about recycling, listen to a story about conserving the planet, and go on a scavenger hunt.

Art in Duluth

On April 29-30, bring the family to the Duluth Spring Arts Festival. Everyone will enjoy the delicious food, talented art and work from local artists, entertaining performers, and much more.

Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Atlanta has wonderful hiking trails so spend a spring afternoon discovering family-friendly Atlanta hikes.

Hit the gardens

Gibbs Gardens offers a dazzling display of azaleas, rhododendrons, and other flowering shrubs in the spring. Witnessing flowers in bloom is an amazing spring activity that will wow children and adults of all ages.

Go strawberry picking

Kick off the strawberry picking season at the Strawberry Festival at Mitchum Farms on April 29. Enjoy hayrides, live animals, food, and u-pick strawberries. 

Experiment outdoors

Connecting STEM activities to the great outdoors, EcoTinker at Chattahoochee Nature Center challenges budding scientists with five science stations. The interactive exhibit runs until May 31.
