Weekend Fun for LI Kids: Chick-A-Palooza, Earth Day, Spring Festivals April 25-26

You can honor our planet this weekend at several Earth Day celebrations across Long Island. Kids can also learn to garden at Benner's Farm, or discover everything there is to know about chickens at Chick-a-Palooza in Riverhead.

Families can head over to Roslyn for programs at the Nassau County Museum of Art, or take a drive to Islip to spend the day at the Seatuck Family Nature Club.

Chick-a-Palooza - Riverhead. All things chicken at Garden of Eve farm. 

Arbor Day - Oyster Bay. At the Planting Fields, live shows, petting zoo, activities, face painting, tattoos and more.

Merrick Chamber of Commerce Kids Fest - Merrick. Weekend-long carnival, vendors, live shows and more. Free.

Cinderella - Northport. Live performance at The Engeman Theater. Runs through May 10. 

Weekend Workshop - Sayville. Each weekend, a dedicated instructor at Mini Monet will lead your child in a craft/creation.

Build a Sound Sandwich - Port Jefferson. Make your own musical instrument at The Maritime Explorium and explore the relationship between pitch and size.

Roller Skating on the Harbor - Port Jefferson. Roller skate around the same rink that offered ice skating over the winter.

Seal Cruise - Freeport. Hop aboard the Captain Lou in Freeport, hosted by the Riverhead Foundation, to search for harbor seals and other mammal life.

Messy Afternoons at LICM – Garden City. At the Long Island Children’s Museum, all weekend long.

Saturday, April 25

Eco Carnival - Islip. At the Suffolk County Environmental Center, the family can enjoy nature programs, live animals, music, art, games and food to celebrate Earth Day 2015.

Earth Day Celebration - Sayville. At The Common Ground, enjoy activities, crafts, vendors and more. Free.

Grow and Taste Garden - East Setauket. At Benner's Farm, kids will plant a garden they can take home and later eat from.

Birds of Pray Program - Oyster Bay. It's Junior Ranger Day at Sagamore Hill. Handlers will be showing and teaching about birds of prey. Free.

Tyrants & Tiaras - Riverhead. At the Atlantis Aquarium, celebrate all things pirate and princess for Tyrants & Tiaras Day. Children (12 and under) will get 50% off admission to the Long Island Aquarium when they arrive dressed as a Pirate or Princess! Princess Tea Party too.

Fish Hatchery Festival - Cold Spring Harbor. Castle bouncers, games, petting zoo, food, live music and more.

CMEE Feria - Bridgehampton. Celebrate Latin culture in the East End at the Children's Museum of the East End. Free.

Open House: The Lanyard Ladies - Mineola. Learn about making lanyard jewelry at this free open house. Schedule instruction, join a class or host a party. Free.

The Littlest Pirate - Port Jefferson. Live theater production at Theatre Three.

Town of Oyster Bay Family Spring Festival - Massapequa. Inflatables, games, prizes, petting zoo, refreshments and more. Free.

Sunday, April 26

Family Sundays at the Museum - Roslyn. Families can attend a day of festivities and activities at the Nassau County Museum of Art.

Birds of a Feather, Snack Together - Garden City. At the Long Island Children's Museum, create your own Cheerio bird feeder.

Seatuck Family Nature Club - Islip. These programs will be geared around the current season and include topics such as seasonal birds, tremendous trees and signs of the season. Free

Sunday Kids Club - East Hampton. Drop off kids for a morning camp at Hampton Kids.
